What is Paint Protection Film Made Of?

PVC PPF was the earliest and most common type of paint protection film, often called first-generation PPF. While PVC films give some paint protection, they're hard to install because they're stiff. Also, PVC usually gets hard within 1 to 3 years and tends to lose its elasticity and colour over time.
• TPU: Thermoplastic polyurethane, or TPU, is the new generation of paint protection film. TPU has a chemical structure different from conventional PVC, which makes it far more flexible and long-lasting. Thanks to their exceptional flexibility, TPU Films are simple to install without the use of heat guns or other tools and are extremely durable; they do not lose their elasticity over time or develop cracks or discoloration. TPU Films are easy to apply and remove without causing any harm to the original paint. That’s why most major brands opt for TPU based PPF. 

• TPH: A polymer built on a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) foundation, and it offers a middle ground between TPU and PVC films. TPH films have improved flexibility when compared with PVC, but still has inferior lifetime to TPU. Over all TPU based film remain superior!
