Inside SEMA 2025: How ExoShield is Redefining Windshield Protection
Every year, SEMA sets the stage for the automotive industry's boldest ideas, and 2025 is shaping up to be a milestone moment for windshield protection. As the industry grows and builds traction, one name continues to define what's next: ExoShield.
Built on a foundation of science, innovation, and a genuine passion for driving, ExoShield has transformed Windshield Protection Film (WPF) from a niche product into a must-have upgrade for both performance enthusiasts and everyday drivers. This year at SEMA 2025, the team is bringing something special. From breakthrough materials to the stories behind the scenes, ExoShield's presence at SEMA is about more than standing out; it's about leading with purpose. Whether you're a dealer, installer, or car care obsessive, you'll want to see what's next for windshield protection and the growing WPF community shaping it.
We sat down with Jesse and asked him a few questions about SEMA and how ExoShield is showing up for this year's show.
So buckle up! Here's a first look at what ExoShield has in store for SEMA 2025, how they've prepared for the biggest stage in the automotive aftermarket, and why this year's showcase marks a defining moment for glass protection film technology.

What is ExoShield most excited about for SEMA 2025?
"There's a few things! We're really excited as a company to gauge the level of excitement for ExoShield Ultra Pro product as a solution focused on the installer. The primary challenge installers face is installing high-quality windshield protection film in a reasonable amount of time. For the end consumer, when it comes to access to a high-quality, easy-to-install windshield protection film that actually delivers the longevity, durability, and protection experience they expect when they're shelling out $500 or more for a product like this.
Another thing we're excited about for SEMA 2025 is, obviously, the networking opportunity, getting together with like-minded people and chatting with them about everything that's going on in the industry. Because it's really like an open forum for conversation, there's a lot of shaking hands and making friends, and there's a lot of really great learning opportunities at SEMA."

What questions are you most excited about being asked on the floor?
Question 1: What makes ExoShield different from the other WPF companies?
"We have a portfolio of premium windshield protection options that allow our partners to properly qualify their clients and provide them with a product that truly fits their needs. We're not just offering WPF because it's hot right now, we've been driving the growth and validation of the WPF market for over a decade".
Question 2: What are you seeing on the floor this year, and what's exciting about it?
"SO MANY PPF/WPF companies - This is exciting because we believe that when the economy thrives, everyone benefits. When we started showing at SEMA in 2019, there were only three major players; now we're seeing major companies enter the WPF space. This year, we are having non-stop conversations with industry pros about what WPF can do for their shop/business."
The top 3 questions the team has been asked
- Where do we ship from - how fast can we provide material?
- What makes ULTRA different from other Windshield Protection Film options?
- How much does a ULTRA PRO kit cost?
What are some of the lessons that the team learned from SEMA 2024 & How has the team prepared for This Year?
"One of the big things we learned from last year, actually, during the show, was how important and critical live demonstrations are. We definitely learned how much of a difference it makes to the booth when something is happening. And for us in 2024, it was when we were displaying Sprint and showing the installation process on one of the show cars. This year, we will be demonstrating the fit and finish of the Ultra Pro kits on a Ford F-150 windshield and showcasing the Porsche that we have displayed there as well.
It's essential to us that they feel it. Let them hold it. (ExoShield ULTRA Pro)."
A growing market: How is ExoShield standing out in the WPF Market?
"Year after year, more people are talking about windshield protection film in general. Which means more people are looking for it. More people are asking questions. What we see is that, because we are a smaller company, by the time people reach out to us, they've already spoken with a couple of other places about the opportunity. In those cases, one of the things that we believe and we've seen come to life is that a rising tide lifts all boats. Basically, the industry giants have helped to validate the importance of windshield protection, and since we’ve been in the game for so long, we are one of those boats that gets lifted to the top.
We have a lot of really great legacy pieces and content, and you know, available backstory for our partners that proves that we're not just some fly-by-night windshield protection company that's riding the wave. We helped create the wave.
We’re not a company that just looks for what’s hot and pushes it to our installing partners. We develop true solutions for current, and future problems. We started building our WPF technology when windshields were still relatively cheap; now replacing a windshield is on average over $1000.
We anticipated the need for windshield protection film in 2015 due to the increasing prevalence of features, like ADAS and other vehicle expectations. So we developed a product to solve the problem of ridiculously expensive windshields breaking just as easily, if not more so, than ever. The thing that lets us stand out is those really genuine conversations that we get to have. It resonates with people when we're able to get in front of them and give them a background on who we are and why we've created the solutions that we have."
"Can you expand on that legacy component you were mentioning before? In terms of the longevity of the product in comparison to other products on the market."
"ExoShield's long-term development focus was on creating a product that was not only the clearest, but also the clearest for the longest. That durability piece is really what our nanotechnology is all about. Our endurance class nano coating, which is the top layer of ExoShield, was developed entirely in-house by us, and that's what gives our product the longest-lasting expected life in the market.
Our proprietary technology is how we get three years of expected life and how we justify our three-year warranty. The first breakthrough with that was solving a problem called delamination. Delamination is the separation of the layers that come together to form ExoShield or any PET-based film.
So for a long time, what was happening in the market was people would put a film on their windshield, and it would yellow or it would crack or it would look scarred very quickly. That was typically due to what's called environmental exposure. Typically, from UV degradation or from exposure to chemicals like washer fluid.
We understood there was a need to improve the weatherability, and that's what our R&D team did: creating GT3+, which essentially solves delamination in PET films. We were the first to do that in the market. Then we moved on to Ultra. And now we're here!"

Who is ExoShield ULTRA Pro For?
"This is a great question!" States Jesse excitedly
"ExoShield Ultra Pro is for everybody. It's for anybody who runs an automotive aftermarket protection or restyling shop. If you have a space where you're able to lay clean film, ExoShield Ultra Pro is for you.
Until now, ExoShield (or any PET windshield protection film) was only for installers who were willing to put in a lot of time to upskill. Installing PET WPF is a whole new workflow. Our partners that have gone through the process of training, and becoming proficient in installing are able to confidently say they’re some of the most skilled installers on the planet. We want to make sure we credit the people who have been putting in that work for almost nine years, who have been getting really good at installation, and who will always have an edge against ExoShield ULTRA Pro.
What we're here for, what we're at SEMA 2025 for, is really to bring that solution to the forefront for everyone and get people excited about what it means to be able to easily integrate a premium product like ExoShield windshield protection film into any aftermarket restyling business."
